Creative Nonfiction Groups
These essay/column/memoir writing workshops are ongoing. Turnover is slow, and places don’t often become available. When a new place does open, it fills quickly. Applicants should have worked with me privately or taken one of my other workshops.
Personally, I’m not fond of “limitations” like those in the paragraph above, but I recognize the fact that an ongoing writing group works best when its members share a certain skill level and critical lexicon as well as trust and congeniality.

I'm happy to be part of this collection of personal stories, a collaboration involving over 60 teachers of memoir from around the world. The book is published independently by the Birren Center for Autobiographical Writing, through which the authors are certified to teach.
